9.00 – 10.30am – Our guide meets you by the ship.
City tour of St. Petersburg. Within the City Tour you will drive along the most popular sights of our beautiful city such as Point of the Basil Island, Palace Square with famous Winter Palace, Academy of Fine Arts. Also, you will drive along Nevskiy Prospekt – the main street of our city. You will see and maybe stop at such places as Arts Square, Catherine’s Garden, St. Isaac’s Square, Bronze Horseman, Naval (St. Nicolas) Cathedral. At the most beautiful places that are suitable to your route the guide will supply you with more information and will offer you to make a stop for taking photos.
10.30 -11.15am – Going to Peterghof by car (by hydrofoil – extra charge 15$ per person).
11.15am – 12.45pm – A tour of Upper Gardens and Lower Fountain Park of Peterhof. Peterhof, called the seaside paradise, the capital of fountains, an entertainment previously unknown in Russia, was opened to the public on August 15, 1723 by Peter the Great himself. This imperial residence on the shore of the Gulf of Finland became a triumphal memorial symbolizing Russia’s access to the Baltic Sea. In the park you will see Grand Fountain Cascade, Marine Canal, 4 smaller cascades, many statues and a lot of other beautiful things.
12.45– 1.30pm – It will take you about 1 hour to get back to the city as Peterhof is about 30km from the city.
1.30 – 2.15pm – Lunch (optional). The price does not include the cost of food and drinks.
2.15 – 5.00pm – Inside tour of the State Hermitage Museum. The State Hermitage is the largest museum of Russia. Its collection has about three million exhibits, including works of painting, sculpture, graphic and applied art, archeological finds, coins and medals. It has been formed in the course of three centuries. The museum consists of five buildings that is why in the beginning we always give our tourists an opportunity to choose what departments they would like to see within our tour. Please remember, the collection of impressionists is exhibited in the separate building and is not included into this tour. + Gold Room Private Tour.
Gold Room at the Hermitage – There is Treasure Gallery (Gold and Diamond Rooms) in the Hermitage. They look like a small museum inside a big one. Catherine the Great arranged it being at the throne in the end of 18th century. Today it has two different departments. The first department is called Gold Room and has about 1500 works in it. They date back to the period of time from the 7th century B. C. to the 19th century A. D. These pieces of art come from Eurasia, the Black Sea Littoral in antiquity and the Orient.
5.00 – 5.30pm – Church on the Spilt Blood inside visit. Church on the Spilt Blood was created in the best traditions of Russian art of the 14th – 17th centuries and stands out among all St. Petersburg churches by its distinct national appearance. It was made in 1883-1907 on the spot where on March 1st, 1881, the terrorist mortally wounded Alexander II.
6.00pm – You are back at your ship.
