9.00-10.15am – Our guide meets you by the ship. Historical city tour of St. Petersburg, part 1. Within City Tour you will drive along the most popular sights of our beautiful city such as Bronze Horseman, Admiralty, Naval (St. Nicolas) Cathedral, St. Isaac’s Square, Point of Basil Island. At the most beautiful places the guide will supply you with more information and will offer you to make a stop for taking photos.
10.15 – 10.45am – Inside tour of Inside tour of Peter the Great Cabin – the oldest wooden structure of the city that survived. It was built within three days before the foundation of the city. It was the first residence of Peter the Great in St. Petersburg. The Cabin consisted of the study, dining-room and bedroom. On the display in museum you can see belongings of Peter the Great such as his smoking pipe and the armchair that was made by the tsar himself.
11.00 – 11.45am – Inside tour of Peter and Paul’s Fortress with its Cathedral and prison. The Fortress is the place where the city began in 1703. Inside St. Peter and Paul’s Fortress there is a Cathedral with the same name that occupies a special place among the churches of St. Petersburg. This cathedral used to be a burial place for the Russian Tsar Family beginning from the time of Peter the Great. Peter the Great was the first to be buried in the unfinished building of this Cathedral. A tradition to bury the members of the ruling dynasty, widespread throughout the world, was followed in St. Petersburg, too.
12.00 – 12.20pm – A photo stop at Kazan Cathedral.
12.30 – 1.15pm – Church on the Spilt Blood inside tour. Church on the Spilt Blood was created in the best traditions of Russian art of the 14th – 17th centuries and stands out among all St. Petersburg churches by its distinct national appearance. It was made in 1883-1907 on the spot where on March 1st, 1881, the terrorist mortally wounded Alexander II.
1.30 – 2.30pm – Lunch at a Soviet cafe is included into the tour price (a salad/a potion of soup, main course + non-alcoholic drink).
2.30 – 3.45pm – Historical city tour of St. Petersburg, part two. Photo stops on Mars Field, at Cruiser Aurora battle ship, Smolny Institute.
4.00 – 5.30pm – Inside tour of Siege museum. The Siege of Leningrad was the most tragic period in the history of the city. About three million citizens found themselves in the circle of German troops. The Siege of Leningrad lasted 900 days, from September 8, 1941 till January 27, 1944.
6.00pm – You are back at your ship.
