We are glad to inform you that the new exhibition – Museum Restoration Secrets – takes place in Pavlovsk
It was arranged by State Museum of Pavlovsk together with Leningrad Region Museum Agency. It is held in Tikhvin Art and Architectural Museum and is going to finish on February 20, 2017.
A museum restorer is a very rare job surrounded with mystery. Every museum object, as a human being, has several stages of life including the one when it begins to get old. Only restorer’s magic hands can turn time back and return the dying museum exhibit to people. This way Pavlovsk was turned back to life from ruins and ashes of World War II. This exhibition presents to its visitors the details of palace halls, park pavilions and masterpieces restoration. Some secrets of restoration skill will be open for those who will come to see the exhibition. All restored museum pieces will be supplied with detailed annotations and photos that will show how they looked before and during the restoration.
Ascreen creative group added videos devoted to the museum restoration and that made bright stories about exhibits.
Visitors also can see the installation “Furniture restorer’s workshop”. Visiting the exhibition people will find out what knowledge and skills everyone needs to become a restorer and even will have the opportunity to experience this job.
The exhibition will be interesting for all kinds of visitors that will be impressed with the treasures of our national culture. The exhibition organizers hoped it will help people to realize our heritage must be very well cared about.0
